Membership is an integral part of all non-profit organizations and A Rose for Grandma Wellness Hub (ARFG) is no different. Members provide organizations with a stable base and ARFG, as a new organization and still in its infancy stage, now needs new members to provide that stability. We would like to encourage everyone to become a member of A Rose for Grandma Wellness Hub.
What are some of the benefits of becoming a member of A Rose for Grandma Wellness Hub?
- One of the primary benefits of becoming a member is being entitled to vote at all general meetings. This allows you to have a say in the mission and values of the organization.
- Members will be able to access webinars and workshops which will offer educational content, expert guest speakers, and interactive Q&A sessions that will allow them to expand their knowledge and skills in the area of Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
- Members can participate in support groups which will increase their networking opportunities allowing them to share their stories with like-minded individuals, thus decreasing their isolation while caring for the individuals with dementia.
- Members will be entitled to discounts and savings on eligible programs and services as defined and determined by the Board of Directors/Management.
- Members will be eligible to become a member of the Board of Directors.
- Members will have access to volunteer opportunities, including participation on committees, and advocating on behalf of the organization.
Members can also withdraw their membership according to the By-Laws of A Rose for Grandma Wellness Hub. The following are excerpts from the By-Laws:
2.3 A person shall immediately cease to be a member of the Corporation: (a) upon delivering his or her resignation in writing to the Secretary or the address of the Corporation; (b) in the case of a corporation, society or association, upon dissolution, bankruptcy or receivership; (c) upon ceasing to hold the office by virtue of which he or she is a member; (d) upon expiration of the term for which he or she was admitted as a member; (e) upon being removed.
2.4 A member may be removed by ordinary resolution.
2.7 The amount of the membership dues shall be determined by the Board. In the absence of any determination of membership dues it shall be deemed that there are no annual or other membership dues. Once the amount of any annual membership dues has been determined, that amount shall be deemed to be the annual membership dues in each succeeding membership year until such amount is changed.
