Community Resources

There are several organizations and resources available for BIPOC dementia communities in Toronto, Canada. Here are some of the resources and events available:

  • Alzheimer Society of Toronto

    The Alzheimer Society of Toronto provides support and education to individuals and families affected by Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. 

  • African-Canadian Dementia Support Group

    This support group is specifically for African-Canadians affected by dementia. They meet once a month to discuss issues related to dementia and provide support to each other.

  • Black Dementia Circle

    The Black Dementia Circle is a support group for Black individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. They provide a safe space for members to share their experiences and offer emotional support to one another.

  • South Asian Dementia Support Group

    This support group is for South Asians affected by dementia. They provide emotional support, education, and resources to their members.

  • Caribbean and African Canadian Health Network

    The Caribbean and African Canadian Health Network offers a range of health services, including support for individuals and families affected by dementia. They provide education, support groups, and counseling services.

  • The Dementia Society

    The Dementia Society is a national charity that provides education, support, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by dementia. They offer a range of programs and services, including support groups, counseling services, and educational programs.

  • Black Creek Community Health Centre

    The Black Creek Community Health Centre provides health services to residents of the Black Creek community in Toronto. They offer a range of programs, including support for individuals and families affected by dementia.

In addition to these organizations and resources, there are also several events that are held for BIPOC dementia communities in Toronto. The Alzheimer Society of Toronto, for example, hosts several events throughout the year, including support groups and educational seminars. The Black Dementia Circle also hosts events, such as workshops and information sessions, for their members.
