Summer Programs for Seniors: A Rose for Grandma and Malvern Family Resource Centre Partnership
During the summer months, A Rose for Grandma proudly partnered with Malvern Family Resource Centre to host a series of engaging and enriching programs tailored for seniors. These programs offered participants a variety of activities designed to entertain, educate, and foster a sense of community. Seniors enjoyed board games, trivia, and group activities that encouraged both mental stimulation and social interaction.
In addition to recreational activities, the programs also provided valuable educational opportunities, including sessions on fall prevention exercises and recognizing the signs and symptoms of dementia. These sessions were instrumental in empowering participants with knowledge to maintain their health and safety.
Each program included a nutritious lunch, ensuring that participants not only stayed active but also addressed food security in a supportive environment. The programs offered a welcoming space for seniors to connect with both new and familiar faces, reinforcing a strong sense of community and belonging.
We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Malvern Family Resource Centre in delivering these impactful programs and look forward to continuing our efforts to support the well-being of seniors in our community.
Summer Programs for Seniors: A Rose for Grandma and the Aaniin Community Centre Partnership
A Rose for Grandma was thrilled to collaborate with the Aaniin Community Centre this summer. Together, we launched an innovative and interactive program specifically designed for individuals with dementia, utilizing Aaniin's exceptional sensory room. This unique space allowed us to create a deeply engaging and supportive environment, tailored to the needs of those we serve. Our commitment to this initiative is strong, and we are excited to explore opportunities to expand this program in the future.
In addition to the interactive sessions, we also provided outreach support to families within the community who have loved ones living with dementia. Our goal is to offer both comfort and practical assistance, helping families navigate the challenges they face with compassion and understanding.
We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with the Aaniin Community Centre and look forward to continuing our partnership to make a positive impact on the lives of those affected by dementia.
